OK, Obama won the state fair and square. But, please stop saying that the vote had nothing to do with “race”.
It had everything to do with the fact that Barack is considered “African-American”. Black people overwhelmingly voted for Obama. Is this wrong? Hell, no! The same way that I support my beliefs is exemplified by the vote yesterday.
Heritage is important, I think, to many Americans. Like most, I tend to gravitate toward those who think the same way as I do. It is human nature to want to belong to a “group”, unfortunate as that may be.
This does not, however, preclude the cooperation of various groups with others. Now, possibly more than ever, is the time for all Americans to unite as a single power to fight any enemy that we may face. We need to reject the “Peace at any Price” crowd.
Respect our differences, applaud our free choice, and stand tall for the values that once made the United States the greatest country ever known.
We are in this together, folks. Please don’t let anyone take away our independence, freedom, and fearlessness of those who would take this from us.
